Whangarei Falls is located in Whangarei Scenic Reserve, about a 10-minute drive from Whangarei city centre. The curtain waterall has a height of 26m and is part of the Hatea River.
The picturesque place has one of the easiest tracks to get to a waterfalls. It’s about a 15-minute walk to get to the base and the paths are well-defined with boardwalks and walkways for most of the way. The lookout is only about a 2-minute walk from the carpark. The walk is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.To get to the base, you nee to cross a river via a concrete bridge, there is a part that has stairs so it is not suitable for wheelchairs and prams.
